EnerNOC’s energy procurement services in restructured or deregulated markets complement our demand response and other energy management solutions. EnerNOC offers strategic advice to our commercial, institutional, and industrial customers to help them capture favorable energy procurement contracts, achieve significant savings, and mitigate risk through a competitive supply contract. EnerNOC’s energy procurement services are available in the states below, where electricity, gas, or both markets are deregulated.
EnerNOC’s energy procurement specialists use our market knowledge and industry relationships, along with actual customer electricity usage data, to inform our customers of the cost-savings opportunities created by deregulated markets and to procure commodity supply contracts from competitive electricity suppliers. EnerNOC manages the energy procurement process for our customers from start to finish:
EnerNOC also utilizes EnerNOC Exchange™, our reverse auction technology platform, to increase competition in deregulated markets for energy supply. In addition, EnerNOC enables our customers to purchase green, renewable energy. When procuring energy, customers can diversify their energy supply with renewable energy credits (REC) that ensure part or all of their energy comes from renewable energy sources. To learn more about energy procurement in deregulated markets, please see our Frequently Asked Questions. EnerNOC is not an energy service provider or a power broker. We take no position in the commodities markets, and assume no associated risk.
EnerNOC's has grown its Energy Procurement Services platform both organically, as well as through strategic acquisitions.
In September 2007, EnerNOC announced the acquisition of MDEnergy, an independent energy manager based in Stamford, CT, expanding EnerNOC's portfolio of services.
In May 2008, EnerNOC acquired South River Consulting, LLC, an energy procurement and risk management services provider based in Baltimore, MD, strengthening EnerNOC’s position in the rapidly growing energy procurement services market and providing a local presence for EnerNOC in the PJM Interconnection service region.
